The Palace International has been serving up authentic African Cuisine to Durham residents since 1989. The traditional ingredients and spices of African cuisine lend themselves well to vegetarian dishes, and are sure to create a truly flavorful meal you will want to have again and again.
Join us March 18th at 7pm for a Vegetarian Adventure Dinner at The Palace International in Durham. Early bird tickets are just $34.99 for this six-course dinner with one alcoholic beverage.

Maize Salad: Inspired by a Kenyan dish called Githari; it consists of roasted maize, sweet corn, fresh green bell pepper, feta cheese, and a homemade lemon and cracked black pepper vinaigrette
Rolex: Traditionally Ugandan street food, this dish is a hand-made Chapati stuffed with spicy green and purple cabbage and eggs scrambled with onions and tomatoes
Sweet Groundnut Butter over Boiled Cassava Root: We couldn’t leave our homeland off the menu. This dish pays homage to South Nyanza province in western Kenya, where groundnuts grow wild. We made a sweet groundnut butter that is poured over savory cassava root dusted with cinnamon. (There will be special accommodations made for those with nut allergies).
Matoke and Black Beans: One of the most popular traditional Ugandan dishes, matoke is green bananas sautéed in spices with a black bean melody.
White Sweet Potato Pound Cake: A spiced pound cake made with white sweet potatoes drizzled with an orange rum glaze.
Chai Safari: Chai tea served with a shot of Amarula. Amarula is a South African cream liqueur made with sugar, cream, and the fruit of the Marula tree.
