Food Adventure Hall of Fame

Starting our Food Adventure dinner series here in the Triangle has been a delicious experience so far!  Along the way, we have met some amazing chefs and restaurateurs in the area.  We’ve also met tons of awesome foodies that keep us excited about our goal of seeking out and sharing the best that the Triangle has to offer.

Our Food Adventures give diners the chance to meet other foodies.  We love seeing our Food Adventurers trade restaurant recommendations, share opinions and more.  Our events also give restaurants and chefs a chance to share some of the items that stand out on their menu, as well as to introduce some closely held favorites that aren’t always available.  Not only do these Food Adventures offer you a dining and social opportunity, but a cultural experience as well.  At a Food Adventure the chef will be front and center to share their recipes and to tell you the stories behind the dishes you’re enjoying.

Here are the adventures we’ve had so far.  Which ones have you been to?  Which ones would you like to see added to our growing list?

Person Street Pharmacy (March 7, 2016) – Person Street Pharmacy Cafe is run by co-owners Patrick Cowden and Daniel Whittaker on the north side of downtown Raleigh.  Cowden also doubles as Executive Chef and he put together a great menu for this event.  Diners were treated to Black Eye Pea Cakes, Braised Duck, and Coffee Chili-Rubbed Tenderloin, just to name a few of the dishes in this delicious 6-course Food Adventure.

Cave 1912 (February 9, 2016) – Cave 1912 is a cozy, modern restaurant featuring chef-driven menu items inspired by the seasons and by fresh, local ingredients.  Executive Chef Michael Pryor created an inspired and delicious meal for this 6-course event that included not one, but TWO desserts!

Kamado Grille (January 12, 2016) – Kamado Grille brings the outdoors in by preparing mouth-watering food on one of the world’s most versatile cooking instruments – a Kamado-style grill.  This 6-course meal, prepared by one of Raleigh’s most accomplished chefs, demonstrated just how versatile these grills can be. Diners were treated to Grilled Caesar Salad, Bacon-wrapped Pork Loin, and Kamado Corned Beef, among other delicious dishes.

The Rockford (November 3, 2015) – Known for using only locally sourced produce and for offering amazing daily specials, The Rockford offers up some of the most delicious fare on Glenwood Ave.  For this Food Adventure, Chef Howard McDonald put together a 6-course menu that delighted our taste buds.  Highlights of the meal included the Risotto Cake and the Pork Belly Lollipops.
