Spots to Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth

The Cupcake Shoppe

104 Glenwood Ave,
Raleigh, NC, 27603

In the heart of Glenwood South, The Cupcake Shoppe offers up some seriously sweet cupcakes.  Their cupcakes are the perfect size and their frosting is pretty close to perfect, in my opinion.  I love some of their regular flavors, like Cookie Monster and Big Red, but they have some pretty amazing specials as well.  Look out for weekly specials like Spiced Cherry Chocolate and Cookie Dough.  Grab a glass of milk and your sweet tooth and you’ll leave here very happy.

Insomnia Cookies

2302 Hillsborough St,
Raleigh, NC, 27607
Other locations across NC as well

If you’re near NC State and have a sweet craving, Insomnia Cookies is the place to go.  They serve up a multitude of class flavors that will surely satisfy your sweet tooth.  The cookies are also kept in a warmer so each cookie you get is soft, warm, gooey and delicious.  I love the M&M and S’mores flavors myself, but the triple chocolate chunk and chocolate peanut butter cup deluxe cookies look pretty tempting too.  If you’re in the mood for a little something more, you can also get a cookie ice cream sandwich.  Insomnia Cookies is open late as well, so you can satisfy your sweet tooth any time of day.

Fresh

6033 Glenwood Ave
Raleigh, NC, 27612

Fresh is the perfect place to satisfy your sweet tooth in this hot summer heat.  Their fresh, local ingredients make for some pretty tasty ice cream.  My personal favorites are the Cookies & Cream, Cookie Dough, and Coconut Almond Crunch.  I’ve also gotten milkshakes there before and have been very impressed.  My boyfriend also gets the Rainbow Sorbet and loves it.  With all of the different flavors here you’re sure to find something that will leave you feeling happy and refreshed.

Duck Donuts

100 Wrenn Drive
Cary, NC, 27511
Other locations around the Triangle

If you want a fresh donut, this is the place to go.  You can see them making the donuts behind the counter as you order and they are just as tasty as you would imagine.  The best part about Duck Donuts is that you get to get to choose your icing and toppings.  I personally love getting the classic vanilla icing with rainbow sprinkles.  I’ve also tried maple bacon and the classic powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar.  The donuts are always soft and warm and satisfying.

Edible Art

4351 The Circle at North Hills
Raleigh, NC, 27609

Edible Art brings the sweets to North Hills with their amazing cakes.  Known for their beautiful cakes, they also serve up some satisfyingly sweet snacks.  You can get a slice of cake, cupcakes, or other sweet snacks like cookies, and mini tarts and pies.  I personally love the Almond Amaretto in both cupcake and cake form.  I’ve also had a lot of different cookies and different bars and brownies there as well.  So if you’re in the North Hills area, be sure to stop by to get your sweet fix.
